Chateau de la Cree Les Tourelles Côte de Beaune ‘Knights Templar Cuvée’ Pinot Noir 2019

Description

Les Tourelles de la Crée is crafted by the renowned winemaking team of the venerable 15th Century wine estate Château de la Crée, located in Santenay. Knights Templar Cuvée is a blend of Pinot Noir sourced from compelling vineyards throughout the Côte de Beaune, a region once farmed by the legendary Knights Templar after their return from the holy crusades of the 11th and 12th centuries. Featuring Pinot Noir vines exceeding 100 years in age, this wine is a pure and authentic expression of ancient Burgundian terroir.

Harvested and sorted entirely by hand then aged in 100% French oak barrels, this texturally alluring Pinot Noir pairs especially well with robust cuisine. The Chevalier de la Crée, ‘Knights Templar Cuvée’ Côte de Beaune Pinot Noir is beautifully balanced upon approach, displaying dark cherry and raspberry aromas, with hints of citrus peel and tobacco. The palate is awash with balanced red fruit flavors, finishing with lively floral tones of dried flowers and pomegranate. Texturally, this young Burgundian Pinot Noir is bright, with soft tannins and balanced acidity that will age with grace for the next decade.

Highly bred, subtle, yet rich in nuance, this fresh and youthful Chevalier de la Cree Knights Templar Cuvee Montagny Blanc Premier Cru Chardonnay reveals aromas of golden apple, fresh almonds, fern and a touch of citrus. The lively, almost frisky palate is surprisingly rich, with alluringly spicy back-flavors that shine through.

This Premier Cru Montagny’s refinement and delicacy are harmoniously matched by its durably well-built structure, building to a nuanced aftertaste that is long and flavorful with distinctive minerality.

Tasting Notes:

The 2019 Les Tourelles de la Crée, Côte de Beaune ‘Knights Templar Cuvée’ Pinot Noir, extremely expressive upon approach, displays strawberry and red raspberry aromas. The palate is awash with delightful red fruit flavors and fresh tobacco notes. Texturally, this young Burgundian Pinot Noir is silky, with soft tannins and balanced acidity that leads to a long and persistent finish.
