Dusty rose, cedary spice, nuances of split pine and dried black cherries form an inviting bouquet as the 2022 Valpolicella Ripasso Monti Garbi entices from the glass. It presents a pretty inner sweetness contrasted by crisp red berry fruits and mineral tones, with hints of clove adding contrast toward the close. The finish is pleasantly chewy and long, leaving a twang of sour citrus that enlivens the senses.
Description
It is mainly produced with Corvina, Rondinella and Oseleta grapes, harvested only by hand. After a soft pressing, the grapes ferment in barriques at a controlled temperature with selected yeasts, used for the Amarone grapes. Subsequently the wine ages in barrique for 15-16 months before being bottled.
It is characterized by a ruby red color. The nose opens with elegant hints of red fruits and cherries. On the palate it is soft, fresh and pleasantly enveloping, with a tannic body and a spicy aftertaste.
