Lobo Hills Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Lobo Hills 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley
Minimally Crafted Unfined. Unfiltered.
Tony Dollar parleyed a traumatic bike accident into a new career by founding Lobo Hills. Having worked at Almaden and J. Lohr already, the accident drove Tony to an epiphany which led him back to the wine industry. Sourcing fruit from the Yakima and Columbia Valleys, he fashions wines of surprising finesse, informed by Loire Valley sensibilities and priced at value.
This Cabernet Sauvignon is rich and lingering, and compares to $35 bottles of cab. Think aromas of blackberries, black currant, dark cherries, and vanilla. The taste is full and lush with flavors of marionberries, black tea and sweet coffee.
Black fruits flow all day, with added deliciousness from molasses, coffee, and a pinch of eucalyptus. The essence of Lobo Hills’ elegant, refined style is on full display, as is shimmering intensity and energy. When you mix all those things and deliver nearly unmatched value, you have special wine on your hands.
75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Malbec and 12% Merlot. – Marcus
