Los Morros Carmenere 2016
LOS MORROS CARMÉNÈRE 2016
After graduating from the Université de Bourgogne, Miguel Besoain spent the next 10 years working in wineries in France and Germany. In 2010, he returned to his home in the Maipo Valley to create two of his own wineries. Los Morros was born to produce value oriented wine from sustainably farmed vineyards both on his family’s property and farther south in Chile’s central valley. The wines are unoaked or minimally oaked (5% on the Carmenere), fresh, clean and astounding values.
The name LOS MORROS, or “the hills”, comes from the rolling hills of vineyards that run alongside winemaker Miguel Besoain’s family home in Maipo Valley. These vineyards continue south, through the Central Valley of Chile – from this special mountainous terroir, Miguel produces hand-crafted wines using only the highest quality grapes. Miguel’s winemaking style stems from his vast experience working throughout European wine regions producing expressive, young and playful wines with excellent varietal tipicity.
