Asciutto Vigneto Giardino Rive di Colbertaldo Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Superiore
Dry (2021)

Vigneto Giardino, a naturally south-facing vineyard, represents the denomination’s very first single-vineyard Valdobbiadene DOCG. It debuted as Riva Giardino Asciutto in 1933 in Siena, at the 1° Mostra Mercato dei Vini Tipici d’Italia (1st Exhibition of Traditional Wines of Italy), and ideally exemplifies what Adami characterises as its macedònia: the crisp fragrance of a harvest-box of fresh-picked fruit.

This single vineyard cru comes from Colbertaldo di Vidor in the Valdobbiadene DOCG region. First produced in 1933, it has become the estate’s flagship Prosecco. Recognized by Gambero Rosso as one of Italy’s top Prosecco wines year after year. The vineyard faces southwest and the oldest vines are 100 years old. The winemaking process involves light pressing followed by temperature-controlled fermentation. The wine spends 3 months on lees in stainless steel. The secondary fermentation occurs in autoclaves initiated in batches up to 7 times throughout the year to preserve freshness.

Winemaker Notes

Adami’s Vigneto Giardino was the first single-vineyard Prosecco ever made, in 1933, showing the potential of top-tier vineyards to make unique wines at a time when it was standard practice to blend together several different vineyards. Vigneto Giardino—literally Garden Vineyard—was the family’s first vineyard, purchased in 1920. In a natural amphitheater facing southwest, the vineyard has an excellent position for high-quality grapes. Adami uses cuttings from this vineyard in its replanting program.
Straw yellow. Creamy mousse and delicate, long-lasting bead. Nose is admirably rich, intense, and harmonious. Lovely, crisp spiciness with hints of apple and peach, plus wisteria and acacia blossom. Palate is rich, forward fruitiness, with supple, velvety mouthfeel. Admirable fullness and length, closely mirroring the nose. A wine of great balance and elegance.

Excellent aperitif, perfect for all social occasions, especially festive gatherings. Matches well with dry pastries, foccaccia breads, fruit tarts and fresh fruits, especially peach and melon.

Varietal

This Prosecco is made from 100% Glera grapes, grown in the Valdobbiadene region of Veneto. The grapes are hand-harvested and then fermented in stainless steel tanks using the Charmat method, which preserves the natural aromas and flavors of the grapes.
