Ribolla Gialla is one of the most typical grape varietals of the Collio DOC. Its presence in Friuli Venezia Giulia dates back to the XIV Century.

Ribolla Gialla Maralba by Marco Felluga is a dedication made by the son Roberto to his parents, Marco and Alba, to thank them for the commitment and will to invest into this elegant native vine. In the glass, it is pale yellow with bright shades. The bouquet is fresh and intense with notes of exotic fruits, pomegranate, apple, wisteria and magnolia. The mouthfeel is sapid, balanced, with a fresh and fruity aftertaste. Ribolla Gialla Maralba by Marco Felluga is great with smoked or steamed fish starters, seafood or shellfish.

Type of Soil

The Collio’s hilly terrain. This soil type, called Flysch in Italian and Ponca in the Friulian dialect, is characterized by the stratification of marl and sandstone. It formed during the Eocene period and was once part of the ocean floor. The resulting soil is rich in minerals and, supported by an important temperature range, it lends sapidity and minerality to the wines and is ideal for white grape varietals.
